What is a Mini Session?
A mini session is a shortened version of my regular family portrait photography session. Basically it allows me to get a few great family shots and then spend a little time getting breakout shots of just the kids, a few individual shots and perhaps a few candids for example. It is ideal for families who simply want some updated family shots for their holiday cards, Facebook, or frames. Mini sessions move quickly so it’s imperative you arrive a few minutes early (10-15) so that you and your family are ready to go.

What is the max number of people we can have for a Mini Session?
You can have up to 6 people max. (Sorry, no pets during the mini sessions, but four legged family fur balls are welcome during regular sessions.)

How much is a mini session?
See above pricing.

How do I book a session?
All sessions are booked first come, first serve. Email me at with your desired date/time available and I will hold your spot for 3 days in order to give you ample time to get your deposit to me. Via mail or in person (cash/check only). Once your deposit has been received your date/time is locked in and cannot be given to anyone else. 25.00 is non-refundable. If you need to change/cancel, the deposit can be used for a future booked session.

Do we get all of the images on a disc from our session included?
You will receive an email link to an online, password protected gallery of 10-15 edited photos. You will then get to choose 5 high resolution photos from the gallery to be emailed to you in a digital download.

What do you mean when you say “edited images to choose from”?
That means I look through all of your photos for the best of the best, then I color correct them, crop if need be and prepare them for presentation. It does not mean that I do tummy tucks, chin reductions, wrinkle removing or other major edits.  🙂

Will you provide props for our shoot, or can we bring them?
For holiday mini sessions I won’t be able to provide any large props (chairs, balloons, etc.) however you are more then welcome to bring any small items that you want to incorporate.

Email me with any other questions you might have!

Lifestyle Newborn

I get many inquiries about doing newborn sessions and trying to explain my style for newborns will be easier to show and tell 🙂

I consider myself a natural light, lifestyle photographer. I admire the newborn photogs who can hang babies from branches and get the hands under the chin poses (safely!) but that is not my style. I love capturing the natural moments and features of babies and their adoring families. While I do many cute, on the beanbag, poses in fun outfits, most of my photos are more natural. Here are a few examples of my work. I am learning and growing each day and love new babies! I have many recommendations of amazing newborn local photographers that do the above mentioned type photography if my style is not for you! 🙂

PS. My favorite types of sessions are hospital sessions! 🙂

New beginnings with Link

One amazing friend of mine had one amazing little boy. Savana and Adam are the most adventurous people I know. Up until the day she delivered she was hiking, golfing… doing everything most women would use pregnancy as an excuse not to do 🙂
I had the privilege of visiting them in the hospital and then spending time in their home taking pictures of Link’s first days.

I love seeing the new beginnings of friends’ next chapter and love capturing those moments even more!

Hip Hop Haley

I adore this family and their dedication to serving others.

Haley is such a sweet young girl with a lot of sass when it comes to her dancing! She was ready to pose every second and I love capturing her amazing features!

Jules- headshots

Jules is the husband of one of the middle school mentors in our ministry at Palm Valley Church. Middle school mentors are so incredible! They love on students each week and work in one of the most forgotten ministries sometimes!

Jules is working on his online marketing consultant website and wanted some headshots to make his work pop even more! So happy to bless this deserving family with something as simple as some photos!

Olmos Family

I adore family sessions! This family made it that much easier because their love for each other was so overflowing that the pictures speak for themselves!Image

Here is the Olmos family. Isabella is the same age as my Bryson and I love seeing the difference in boys and girls and even just baby to baby! Lynn and Mark are so in love. You can tell Mark adores his wife and treasures her by the way he looks at her and his daughter. Enjoy.

Life’s true surprises

I LOVE gender reveals. I know they seem like the “new trend” but I think they are so fun! Some people can wait until the baby actually arrives in order to find out and I applaud those people but I could not do that!! So the next best thing is to do these fun reveals.

Brittini and Jacob are such a sweet couple. I have known Brittini since we were awkward (we thought we were cool) middle schoolers and now we are both starting our little families! God has blessed Jacob and Brittini with a sweet baby and they are going to be the most amazing, loving parents! Here are the photos from our time together.

They did a gender reveal paint fight. Their doctor called me to tell me the gender, I filled paint bottles, blind folds and they went at it! Removed their blindfolds to reveal what they were having! Such a sweet moment!

Capture it

I remember a few months ago someone asked me “so are you going to be a photographer now…?” because they saw me taking pictures of Bryson and I said “I won’t be one of those people that just all of a sudden is a photographer… seems like everyone is now a days.” and I still am sticking with this statement. I have a huge reverence for people that have photography as their life. They study the art, they work on lighting, editing, development for years in classes, school, degrees… To be honest, I just love capturing great photos of great people for them to have for a lifetime. So do all photographers, I hope. I have so many photographer friends who I admire so much. Their life’s passion is photography and it is because of it that I was inspired to try it out myself a year ago.

While I don’t know the science or history behind photography, I don’t process my own film and I do use digital… I still consider myself a photographer but hopefully my perspective doesn’t downplay the unique lifestyle of what some consider a ‘true’ photographer.

I began seeing how many families and friends around me were saying they couldn’t afford ‘professional’ pictures of their families because it was just too expensive or they just kept putting it off. I want to give people the opportunity to cherish memories in a way that they can continue to cherish 20 years down the road.

I am helping with a funeral of a dear family friend and as I was looking through pictures I just realized how incredibly important it is to get those memories captured often. Each of the kids had a ‘favorite’ picture with daddy. Family had so many to choose from. I never want to be in the position where my family struggles to find pictures of and with me. So many moms don’t allow themselves to be in pictures because they aren’t comfortable with their bodies but I feel it is a punishment to their family not to capture such a strong family unit as the mother.

However and with whomever you choose to capture those memories, just make sure to capture them.
